HEIC/HEIF support depends on your browser and operating system. Safari on macOS and iOS can typically handle HEIC files natively. On Chrome or Firefox, HEIC support may be limited. If your browser can display the HEIC file, ImgLab can convert it to any supported output format.
Is WebP supported everywhere?
WebP is supported by all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari (14.1+), and Edge. It is also supported on Android and iOS. The only environments where WebP may not work are very old browsers or legacy software. For maximum compatibility, JPEG remains the safest choice.
Does conversion preserve image metadata?
No — when ImgLab converts your image using the Canvas API, metadata such as EXIF, GPS coordinates, and camera information is stripped during re-encoding.
